The Navasota area is in the heart of Grimes County. There are many wonderful attractions to be visited during your stay at the Red Door Bed and Breakfast. The following are some of our suggestions for your enjoyment:

Horlock House - a fine example of a Navasota historical home dating to the early days of Texas independence.
Martha's Bloomers - a garden store which also houses Petals 'n Bloomers, a flower shop featuring the work of Tricia Barksdale and Cafe M. Bloomers, a delightful tea room open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday.
The Wood Factory - a truly unique place owned by Dean Arnold, a talented wood craftsman specializing in Victorian wood turnings. You can also see his spectacular, hand-crafted Texas pine furniture.
Fountain View at Edgewater - a classy salon, spa, and fitness center.
Alpaca Ranch Tours - visit one of these fine ranches in the area: Americana Alpacas, Mountain Dream Alpacas, Poppy's Paca Pastures.
Shop Downtown Navasota - many antique stores.

Washington on the Brazos State Park - where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed on March 2, 1836.
The Antique Rose Emporium - located in Independence, Texas between Navasota and Brenham.
City of Brenham - visit the Blue Bell Creamery and many interesting antique and gift shops.
The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum - located in College Station approximately 30 minutes from the Red Door.
Texas A&M University - it's only a thirty minute trip to the world's finest institution of higher learning.
Seasonal Events -
The Texas Renaissance Festival - located in Plantersville, Texas. Open on Saturdays and Sundays October through November.
Round Top Summer Music Festival - summer months
Round Top Antique Show - the first weekends of April and October. Round Top is only 45 minutes from the Red Door.
Navasota Blues Festival - Navasota was recently proclaimed to be the Blues Capitol of Texas.
